WWS UK lead the way at Northern Dairy Expo

Northern Dairy Expo provided a superb platform to showcase World Wide Sires UK progeny with top honours taken in all categories.

Starting with the youngstock classes, it was August 2010-born Shawdale Damion Pledge, an Erbacres Damion daughter, which took the Calf Championship after winning the Intermediate calf class. The black, silky heifer came from one of the largest classes of the day and earned Messrs Booth the Malgar Trophy for this year’s best new exhibitor.

In the milking classes, Brian Yates’s Logan Mr Sam Gail VG89 won the Junior Cow class before taking the overall Grand Champion title. The balanced Regancrest Mr-Drham Sam daughter produced an impressive 11,659kgs in her first lactation and was an easy winner for judge, Guiseppe Beltramino from Italy.

Best Udder in Show also went to WWS progeny with Messers T Graham & Son’s Heathersgill Sam Bella VG89. Another Mr-Drham Sam daughter who was second in the Junior Cow class, behind the show’s Grand Champion. This stylish three-year old has gained time between lactations and has the added bonus of two heifer calves under her belt.
