WWS quartet to boost NI sales team

WorldWide Sires UK (WWS UK) has strengthened its sales team in Northern Ireland with the appointment of four forward-thinking dairymen.

The new recruits all have a passion for the industry and bring with them a vast amount of knowledge, having worked on various dairy units throughout the world.

William Bolton, Magherafelt, will be covering parts of County Antrim. With various awards to his name, William is sure to be an industry opinion leader of the future – having won Young Farmer of the Y ear 2010, Top Dairy Student of the Year at Queen’s University 2011 and Finalist of the RABDF Dairy Student of the Year 2011.

Having introduced WWS UK’s Worldwide Mating Service (WMS) to his family’s 150-cow pedigree herd in recent years, William has admired its ability to create herd uniformity, increase profitability and improve overall type.

Ballymena-born, Bryan Graham, will join William in the County Antrim area. With a passion for cattle breeding, Bryan has increased his family’s 60-cow herd to average 9,000 litres, with an average herd classification of 87 points including heifers.

Familiar with the type of animal required by today’s dairy farmers, Bryan has bred three 100-tonne cows and owned a five-star brood cow

Well travelled Aaron Blaney from Finota, who runs his own beef and sheep farm, worked on a large dairy unit in Australia in 2010 and comes with vast experience of the agricultural industry. Aaron will use this knowledge in his new role to help customers select top genetics for their herd.

With a sound understanding of the market, Aaron is keen to work with farmers in his new role, helping them select well-suited genetics for their breeding plans and will be based in the County Fermanagh area.

Dairy enthusiast, Gareth Sproule from Castlederg completes the new appointments, covering the West Tyrone region. Gareth is heavily involved within the industry and sits on various councils and committees including Area Council of  United Dairy Farmers and Director in the Board of Castlederg Enterprise Company. With a developing interest in pedigree breeding, Gareth has introduced many world class families to his herd.

Gareth’s additional interests in ‘green farming’ will also see him directing breeders to a more profitable animal with a focus on the Health and Fertility portfolio at WWS.
