Bull proof success with leading health and fitness traits

Leading supplier of elite bovine genetics, World Wide Sires (WWS) UK is celebrating one of its strongest bull proofs as its Goldwyn sons continue to produce excellent type merit, fertility and PLI scores.

The company saw Pirolo Goldwyn Wyman, a Goldwyn and Oman cross son move into the top three ranked bulls for PLI with £241 and other star performers from the company’s portfolio of leading Holsteins, including O-Man End-Story BLF CVF and Luck-E Goldwyn Autopilot CVF BLF continue to showcase the excellent performance seen in previous proofs, moving up trait rankings for fertility, lifespan, fat and protein.

• Pirolo Goldwyn Wyman continues to transmit exceptional management traits including -27 for cell counts, and +0.3 for lifespan. His 116 daughters are milking in 81 herds and have demonstrated a milk score of +326kgs with +26kgs fat (+0.16%) and +19.9kgs protein (+0.11%).

• O-Man End-Story BLF CVF has a PLI score of £200 and has seen his milk score increase to + 631kgs with +28.4kgs fat and +23.3kgs protein. He transmits high daughter fertility +4.3, low cells -23 and with high type +2.17 his daughters demonstrate tremendous strength and power and have excellent udders +2.37.

• Luck-E Goldwyn Autopilot CVF BLF from the renowned Blitz Australia cow family is an exceptional health trait sire transmitting +7.0 for fertility index, the highest of any bull in the WWS UK portfolio and low cell counts of -26. His 472 daughters are milking in 266 herds and milk scores have increased to +623kgs with + 15.5kgs fat and + 10.2kgs
