Regancrest Mr Sam Averaging 92% GP and Better

undefinedFuture supply from one of the world,s most renowned sires has this week been guaranteed according to World Wide Sires UK.  Record-breaker Regancrest Mr Sam is considered by many cattle experts to be the UK's most consistent breeding sire owing to his Holstein UK registered progeny averaging in excess of 92% Good Plus and Better according to the company's Sales Director John Cochrane.

"Mr Sam has a global proof but his exceptional Holstein UK ratings and consistent breeding pattern has ensured the bull is now extremely popular with UK breeders. The company anticipated a severe supply restriction owing to increasing global demand but we're delighted to announce we've recently secured an additional limited supply for the UK marketplace.

The bull delivers a totally consistent breeding pattern and farmers are delighted with the performance of his daughters. Mr Sam excels on major traits such as mammary and feet and legs as well as offering high locomotion scores. The bull is therefore proving immensely popular within large scale dairy herds owing to a combination of these important health and animal welfare factors," he says.
The bull is a son of Regancrest Elton Durham, a US sire unavailable to UK breeders, and Mr Sam has proven to be an immensely popular mating as well as being an extremely successful outcross sire onto traditional Canadian bloodlines. Mr Sam currently has 476 classified Holstein UK registered progeny (August 2009) averaging 92.5% Good Plus and Better. In the higher categories, his UK scored daughters are extremely correct and well balanced and are currently averaging an impressive 36% Very Good.

Mr Sam excels across the board and offers a Holstein UK Type Merit score of + 3.26; +2.94 Mammary, +2.36 Rear Udder Height, +2.64 Legs and Feet and a Locomotion score of +2.88.  The bull also offers current UK production increases of +377kgs Milk, + 20.6kgs Fat, + 11.8kgs Protein and a PLI of +£119.

Canadian breeders rate the bull highly as a result of his Holstein Canada classification scores. He continues to deliver a consistent pattern with 1,364 Canadian scored daughters (August 2009) averaging 78% Good Plus and Better as well as offering a 17.8% Very Good average based upon his 244 VG daughter classification rating. The bull was first proven in the US and currently offers US PTA type increases (April 2009) of +2.40; +2.27 Udder Composite and +2.44 Feet and Leg Composite score based upon 6,695 classified daughters.

"We advise farmers to contact their local area manager to ensure continued future supply at the current price structure. The bull is now our fastest selling sire owing to a series of repeat orders. His two year old UK daughters are now maturing into strong, powerful dairy cows with correct feet and legs, superb udder traits; correct rump-structure as well as displaying essential loin-strength," Mr Cochrane concluded.
