Following this years Worldwide Sires UK trip to Madison some of the group headed on to Canada after to see the latest recruits of the Select Sires Canada stud. Primarily they viewed daughters of Lylehaven Lightning and Regancrest Re-Design, needless to say they were not disappointed.
Bryan Challenor, Livestock Director had the following comments to make:
"Lightening will sire them very true to the Durham type. Daughters are tall, black and silky with good depth of rib and very correct udders just made for the show ring. He must be used on cows with good rumps and so will be an ideal cross on Shottle and Outside bloodlines."
"Having spent 2 days viewing test daughters in Canada the bull that really caught my eye was Design. A truly great sire for the large commercial herds all over the world. Deep ribbed, wide rumps, outstanding fore and rear udders. Design was consistently good and will be a great sire for injecting that much needed strength and capacity into cows."
Robert Horton, Hinton Holsteins commented:
"To see the test daughters first hand was of huge interest to me and I was particularly taken with the Regancrest Re-Designs as a real dairyman's cow. They possessed a beautiful dairy wedge, looked the ideal type of cubicle cow, wide from behind to muzzle. Can't wait to see them in our cubicles."
